Troop 12 offers a wide range of activities that are both fun and instructive. What differentiates us from other youth organizations, however, is the emphasis we place on developing leadership skills and character development. Our goal is to help boys grow into responsible young men and become valuable members of society.
 
In our weekly meetings, boys are encouraged to learn skills and techniques that can be utilized on our adventures (camping, canoeing, hiking, swimming…). We also believe that real character growth occurs when boys encounter practical challenges, so we seek to provide a safe haven where boys are encouraged to accept leadership positions and handle real responsibilities.
 
Troop 12 has offered an excellent program for over 81 years. Many of our former Scouts have told us that Troop 12 represented a turning point in their lives. In fact, many of our nation’s greatest leaders have indicated that Scouting was a major influence during their formative years. For example, Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, is an Eagle Scout.

Meetings are from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Boys should to be 11 years old or in the 6th grade. Past Cub Scout experience is not required.
